The School Council
The School Council helps students to contribute in a realistic way to decision making in the school.
Students' Representatives
Students hold form discussions and elect representatives who meet as the Year Council with their Head of Year.
Further elections provide a School Council which meets monthly with the Headteacher, head of Citizenship and Chair of Governors.
Contributing to Decision Making
The School Council influences decisions in a range of areas of school life.
Representatives from the council participate in the interview process for senior staff and discussions about school reward systems and out of school activities.
They have influenced what is on offer for school meals and are running a Fair Trade stall. New school policies are debated by the school Council.
Student Responsibility
The School and Year Councils help to organise areas of student responsibility such as peer mentors and student bullying counsellors.
