Help Your Child to Improve Their Results with the Ten Task Hour Challenge!
We are continuously evaluating ways to raise the achievements of our students.
One of the ways we do this is by subscribing to SAM Learning Secondary, an e-learning service used by over 800,000 students, which has been proven to improve GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) and SATs (Standard Assesssment Tests) results through revision and practice.
One of the key features of this service is that it can be accessed from virtually any computer with internet access, this includes at home and in after school clubs outside the usual school timetable.
Currently in school we are making students more aware of the SAM Learning Secondary service by presenting them with The Ten Task Hour Challenge. This challenge will remind them that they have use of the service and will help them get their usage up, therefore improving attainment on their GCSEs or SATs.
The main initiative of The Ten Task Hour Challenge for SAM Learning Secondary is to raise attainment.
SAM Learning Secondary is proven to improve GCSE and SATs results with 10+ task hours of use, therefore we are challenging your child to revise using it for at least ten task hours across all subjects.
We realise you may have concerns about your youngster using the Internet, and may wish to establish your own family rules about where and when this is to be done. However, we also hope that you will encourage the use of SAM Learning Secondary and The Ten Task Hour Challenge outside of the normal school day, whether it is at home or by going to the library or local internet café.
To access the service using the login on SAM Learning's web site, students need three details:
- Centre ID: NR9HH
- User ID: date of birth followed by two initials, first name then last name.
Example: 010895DJ is the User ID for David Jones, born 1st. August 1995. - Password: initially the same as the User ID.
Learners are encouraged to change this to something difficult to guess or work out.
All our students who use this service should know how everything works – you may want to ask them to show you in turn, especially the area that reports on their progress and shows their marks!
Don’t forget to ask them about The Ten Task Hour Challenge.
We do hope that you will take full advantage of this service and thank you in anticipation of your support for this initiative.
